Yeah, grew up in East Bay Area. Cruised “The Strip”, East 14th St. in my ‘60 Impala. Surfed and spent a lot of time in Santa Cruz. Yep, it was cars, girls and parties in the 60’s. The kids today will never experience what we had…

I went to one party in the early 60s drinking beer and someone lit a joint so I left early. My dad was a US Marshal and dealt with drug arrests and transporting offenders. Times have really changed. Marijuana legalized in many states. I’ve tried it a couple of times but it did nothing for me. I started smoking cigarettes at 12 and alcohol in the 9th grade for the first time and some times in high school. I quit smoking full time in1964 and did it off and on until quitting completely in the early 80s. and alcohol in 89. Don’t miss either.

Quit smoking cigarettes around 81 or 82. Still enjoy a good bourbon, but haven't been into heavy drinking for a very long time.
I can remember milk trucks and ice cream trucks but not bread. I lived in the country outside a small town. Mom took care of all that I was fishing in the creek or up the creek playing around
My brother retired from Taystee Bread Company as a bread truck driver in Detroit after 43 years, paying into the the Teamsters and, unfortunately, trying to “live” on the meager pension they provided. Thank goodness for the additional Social Security “benefit” or, as he so accurately described it, “Governmental double-taxation”, since he’d already paid income tax once on that “benefit” already!
Not to deviate too far from the subject of Bread trucks but, what do you guys feel about paying income taxes Twice on SS income? Especially since congress (note: small-“c”); 1.) Threatened for the last 50 years that payouts are about to run out. 2.) Constantly raised the amount we have to pay in. 3.) Constantly threatens to give “benefits” to illegals who never paid in?

I live in a state that doesn't do that. That's my advice.
