Welcome aboard Greg. My wife is from Hendersonville. I fish up in Fletcher but never fished the French Broad River. We pass through there taking the back roads to Canton. Hwy 191 most of the way.

Welcome . I am just south of you in Rutherfordton NC. Bobby
Hey Bro. I’m from Hendersonville!
Hey . Cherokee is great! The Raven has some trophy fish in it. So there is wild /stocked and all kinds of greatness. I fish Cherokee sometimes . I mostly fish in Brevard . Also sometimes the wild streams in Green River and Saluda. All trout, some smallmouth around ashville and musky.

I've been to the Green River at Saluda. Took that winding road at the i-26 exit. never fished there but seen a loy of tubers floating down the river in the summer. What do you catch there? My wife is from Hendersonville. Her sister lives off Howard Gap road
That is great fishing!! I love the wild part of that stream! It’s dangerous to venture up in the narrows solo. I caught some wild “smart” trout there. They tasted so good!! Nothing like that blan doe belly fish. I ate stocked and wild side by side and the difference was huge!

Thanks. What did you use for bait. I've never fished for trout before.
I fly fish. But you can use spinners that have single hooks . Or jigs. If I was going to spin fish it I would use a few spinners with a single hook and trout magnets . Basically it’s artificial/single hook only. That the regs.

Thanks for the info. That will keep me legal now.
Ya . On trout streams you need to watch this signs. There are many different regulations. If you go to hatchery supported waters you can use anything you want. I myself find more sport in wild fish. Their instincts are a lot sharper and thus harder to catch. I’ll fish all of them even spin fish some just depends what I feel like doing.
