I mostly fish at Lake Hartwell, Lake Robinson, and Lake Storm Thurmond and keep catching these spotted bass. I heard they were an invasive species; these thing are all over the place. However, they put up a good fight, and aren’t a bad fish to eat either.

Welcome aboard Marty. I've never caught one but I've heard they are good eating.

Same way with lake Keowee. Many years ago caught lots of largemouth and an occasional smallmouth. All I seem to catch now are spotted bass and hardly ever get one over 3 lbs. Used to catch largemouth in 4-6 lb range.

Kentucky Spotted Bass ARE native to the US. They’re very prolific and very tasty, but do not attain the size of largemouths. Lakes in Texas are dropping their minimum size limit on Spots to help decrease their numbers.
