Hi, I'm a traveling nurse from Florida visiting in New Hampshire. I'm looking for a fairly successful place to go fishing for trout. I'm assuming you don't use worms, but lures. Is it still too cold or do I need to wait till spring?

Go online and find the trout stocking reports. Mass has a detailed accounting of stocking dates and locations.

I use nothing but worms, had no luck with any lures, but if you fish where they are stocked, you wont have any luck with worms till they get used to the new environment pay attention to the date of stocking and if you go close to that date, i've not had luck with anything at least for a week or 2 after....so good luck

I wish NH would tell us when they are going to stock. They tell us they are stocked AFTER they have stocked them.

If you're going to be fishing in trout ponds the season starts the 4th Saturday of April. They should start stocking the streams anytime now if they haven't already started. Good luck!!!

I go for streams mainly small brooks they stock brookies in.

Go to the Fish and Game site and if they are stocking, they will have the report and if you want you can subscribe to it, and they will email on a weekly basis.
