When I was little, we always had a box of "Friskies fives" dog biscuits for our dog. I thought that the reddish ones tasted best. Or, should I say 'less bad'? How good something tastes depends a lot on how hungry you are!

I tried the cat food just to see what it tastes like, because the cats seemed to like it

I worked as veterinarian technician for about 12 years and one doctor I worked for developed his own brand of canned dog food. We tasted it and it was delicious, just needed a little salt.
He told me that by law, canned dog food is required to meet the standards for human consumption because so many elderly people can’t afford other foods.

Same reason they can't add "birth control" to pet foods, and it's not just about the elderly, it's impoverished people of all ages.

To be clear my response "what is happening?", was based on the original post and those that immediately followed.

I do realize there are people that live on pet food and it is not a laughing matter.

The topic started out light hearted and my response was light hearted.
