I have heard a lot about these but never tried one. Can someone explain what they are, how to rig and fish them? Are there any colors that I need to have on hand?

A wacky setup is a large 1/0 hook (or larger) pierced through (or run under an o ring)on a Senko style rubber worm. Cast it outside a weed edge and let it fall with an open bail. Once it hits the bottom you can close the bail and yo-yo it back to you, pausing to let it fall over and over. Watch the line as it will jump when a fish hits. You can add a nail weight to the worm if you wish. It is very effective for bass.

A weedless hook can also be used!

Is Senko a style of worm or a manufacturer?

Gary Yamamoto made the senko, but every other company has their own version such as at bass pro shops it is a β€œ stick-o

Yum Dinger from Walmart looks to be only one with paddle tail. ??? Worms don't have tails. Does it still work?

You can get them without the tail or you can cut the tail off

For your oring on wackys use shrimk tape and cut to 1/4 in long and shrink it to fit on work. Just listened form three bsss pros and the wacky will catch when many other things fail. Most pros don't like to fish that slow as you should with wackys.

Can I buy the worms on line like at Amazon or Bass Pro? I live about a 5 1/2 drive, round trip, from the closest walmart.

Yes do a search for stick bait, it should bring up a lot of places to purchase them

Yeah, agree with all of the comments posted in response, but what’s Idaho have to do with it?
