I had to replace my old minn kota for my jon boat. I bought a c4 endura. The oem prop is a 2 blade. I found a company that makes 3 blade props for trolling motors called kipawa. They say it gives 10 =15% more speed, and less power to run, and my motor will actually move in reverse.

I've always used the 3 blade prop rather than a 2. It always worked great for me.
Haven't tried it yet, installed it today. Haven't started fishing yet but soon I'll be bass fishing on my local lakes

That's a lot of good useful info for us D. Thanks

I have always replaced my trolling motor props with Kipawa props. The motors run through weeds better and also run a little faster at full throttle and quite as well.
My Motor Guide came with a 3 blade prop. I just wish it had a little bit bigger diameter.
Ninja props for weedy fishing.

I have always just taken a file to the leading edge of the blade and sharpened it some for running weeds. Seems to work for me.

Bigger diameter takes more power to turn. There is a science to sizing blades for optimal performance. If you look at airplanes with props, when a two blade is replaced with a three blade, the diameter is always considerably smaller.
For sure, the three blade with the smaller diameter will generate less noise (vibration).
I am not sure about this for boat props, but the surface area of the three blade with the smaller diameter is probably close to the surface area of the two blade with the larger diameter.
