I really don't know if what I posted is anywhere near correct. Was told by a hunting buddy who has since passed. 2nd word might have been processed. Looking forward to the correct answer.

The term Spam was chosen to represent junk mail inspired by a Monty Pyrhon skit about a restaurant that served lots of Spam with every meal ordered.
I still think of that skit today when I see a can or eat Spam.
It was hilarious and launched a Broadway Comady called " Spamalot "
