Congrats. My buddy told me you caught a nice one. I talked to you when I was leaving with my daughter. She caught the Palomino trout.
I grew up in Southeast Kansas and left as a young adult in 1968. The idea of trout in Kansas was ….”Who would’a ever thought”! Roaring River in Missouri was the closest place to find trout at that time. Roaring River had
an artificial raised pond (concrete sides) that had crystal clear water and a natural environment so that you could see large trout in their natural habitat. I remember seeing a 4 or 5 pounder go up to a rock on the bottom and lift it up with his nose to find small aquatic creatures. I couldn’t believe that a fish was that intelligent!

Oh, yes I remember. Thanks for the note!
Does anyone have any information on Hillsdale lake in Kansas?
I've never fished Hillsdale.
My personal best trout caught in Johnson County Park. 21.5” and 4.91 lbs. tagged behind fin good for a Bass Pro Gift card.
Great fish and a bonus!!!
