The Big Day is here, they waited all year, they wait side by side for the gun.
They're quietly talking,
While trout they are stalking,
The gun goes off, then starts the fun.
The lines get all tangled with folks 'cross the river,
It's just a small part of the game.
The folks don't get mad,
Cause they're all so glad,
They showed up and staked their claim.
Our little community loves Op'm'n Day,
The businesses thrive with prosperity.
I'm just an observer,
I don't have trout fervor,
But I love this park, for posterity.

When I was a kid, we would often go camping there, on weekends. It was always shoulder-to-shoulder from morning horn, till evening horn.

Hey, Randy - did the folks ever make the 7 mile run from the park over to the lake? Chances are they bought gas at my dad's store. You never know.... I mighta pumped the gas ⛽!!

That’s interesting;
don’t know about the lake. Us kids were always off on a hike or something. We camped there with another family - between the two families there were 10 of us kids (5 each)! Lots of memories…

Great Pome, Love Roaring River in my opinion, best trout park in Missouri, even though they are all great.
