Your right with the Internet us old timers are bringing left behind unless you try to keep up with it, and I'm like you not much longer to put up with this crap 🙏 feel sorry for the grandkids 🥴 wish you the best in the future 🙏🙏

Based on my last post in regards to the PayPal post. Yes, my wife should have been more diligent. But she was definitely duped. She was not an internet expert, like many of you are NOT! She thought that she had her best interest as to the claim that we did not properly pay for our transaction. Are we now have to be internet experts! The majority of us here are not internet experts. We don’t relay on the internet and our phones! Those who are attacking us know that! They are taking advantage of our lack of knowledge! It’s only going to get worse.

Has any of you stagers got an email from them about a payment you made or purchased something using PayPal. I’ve got my second one today! I’ve never used pay pal! Each time I’ve received it I’ve deleted it without touching anything. Somehow they got my email address but not any mailing address, P0 box or street address. SCAM???

I would say if you don't recognize the sender or are not expecting an email from them just delete it. It's probably a scam. If it's important they can send you a snail mail or call.

I used to have a PayPal account but deleted it over 10 years ago. I get a similar email every month or two. Like you, I delete without opening and also report as phishing scheme.

Ok , let’s talk.my nephew, just booked a skiing trip to Denver, Colorado for myself, along with him and my son. He paid the full amount though the Airbnb account.for the rental, Paid in full though the internet. For the rental agreement. He just received an email from an offstages account demanding that we pay a 1500 dollar security deposit. Which can be paid in gift cards. Really. How in the world did they find his information!spoke to the rental provider, he has no clue as to the despot request.

Something called algorithims. Every click leaves a trail for those evil doers, to use to their advantage. Just use the internet as if someone is looking over your shoulder, cuz they are.
Ever notice when you look at a product on line, you're suddenly bombarded with ads for that same product. You are being tracked. Kind of creepy.

It is definitely a SCAM. If you expand the sender’s email address you will see it is not from PayPal. Do not open the email. Just forward the entire message to PayPal address below. They will acknowledge receipt and an explanation.

I use a hundred dollar bill all the time buying gas they never check it out. And it’s $.20 per gallon cheaper! I only use the card for buying from a store and I don’t have enough cash with me witch doesn’t happen very often because I don’t like bills coming in. Cash always works. Although last year at a good guys carshow in Del Mar CA the food court wouldn’t take cash?? Card only. Maybe to keep the workers honest? FISHANDRODS

Document beforehand the official email address of every financial entity with which you do business. Buy a medium size address book with alphabetized tabs. Once you've verified say pay pal's official address, copy that exact string on the P page, such as "service@paypal.com". Compare all future communication with your documented known address for the entity you are dealing with against scams.

There are incredibly expert computer hackers all over the world, many of them nefarious. I predict they will cause so much financial loss to the banking industry that the system may go down or have to drastically change security efforts. The Windows software on our pcs is totally vulnerable to hacking. Fraudulent activity against my bank acounts has recently cost me over $1000.

I would advise Malwarebytes.com But that's just me from checking and doing anti-viruses since 1985. LOL
Try the free version first. The real time one costs money and I am way beyond Frugal.LOL
