Hello stagers,
Here's a trivia question that I remember from my college fraternity days.
I was the house Treasurer and had to know how much money to collect for each fraternity party.
I also had to know how many 12 Oz red Solo cups could we get out of one standard keg.
So I'll pose the question to you.
Other than the obvious answer of not enough, how many 12 Oz beers are in a standard keg?
Just for fun how many fraternity members would be hungover the next morning?

Well I they still fill to 15½ gallons it'd be 1984oz so about 165 +/-. I used to keep a keg on tap in an old fridge. 🍺 🍻 🍺
124 pints… never wasted time with 12oz cups at a party 😜

Right, they say 16 gal 😏. 16×128=2048÷16=128cups. Hard to drink a pint with a 12oz cup 🤣🤣🤣
1/4 barrel = 7.75 gallons, or 62 pints
1/2 barrel = 15.5 gallons or 124 pints
I got remarried in 2016 and on the way to the wedding I stopped at a liquor store to pickup some beer (qty 2 1/4 barrels) we needed for the “reception”. It was 2 Women, a great beer brewed by New Glarus Brewing. Not thinking about the crowd I was in, I explained why I was cutting it close to the ceremony and said “I had to pick up the 2 Women on the way”. The looks I got until I unloaded the beer were priceless…🤦🏼♂️😂

rite up my alley [18yrs in the fiz. i mean biz]
dont have my calculator handy but heres the math;
in the old days the wooden barrels were 31 gallons
[the old guys would say, derogatorily, used to be iron men and wooden barrels now ur wooden men and iron barrels]
then aluminum kegs came about; 1/2 barrels 15 1/2 gallons [1984 oz] now they're stainless
SOOO, if u were using 10 0z cups you could pour almost 200 cups [NOTE: kegs at parties have LOTS of foam that gets dumped while pouring] but to your question; if the beer was flat [ no head] 1984 oz divided by 12, hence do the math.
btw; i may not know shxt from shinola or fishin but i am an encyclopedia of alcohol and meat feel free 2 ask

Good job 👏 Doug!
You did the math correctly there are 165.33 12 oz solo cups of beer 🍺 in a standard keg.
You've earned the right to blow the froth of of a few.
By the way did you know that beer continues a large amount of vitamin P.

we were always told there were 350 -7oz glasses in a 1/2 keg so around 204 12oz
