The spots are wrong for a laker, sorry (should be whiteish). I will now guess a German Brown. Nice catch, anyway, congrats!

Is there a difference between a Brown and a German Brown???

I was floating a small worm from an inlet to bowman lake in northern ca and was surprised when I pulled this monster in, I think it’s a German brown but I’ve never seen one this big

Looks like a rather large brown trout. For sure I would call it dinner also. And welcome to the stage Dave

No. All Brown Trout are here in the USA due to eggs imported here from Germany, many years ago.

The record brown is over 40 pounds. They do get big.

That is one beautiful BROWN Trout! I get a few that size in the Fall, you can tell he isn't a Fall Brown he's very thin. Still a beauty. Great catch.

I agree that it looks a little more like a Brown than a Rainbow but the spots on it aren't very clear on my computer.
So it's hard for me to be SURE. But I was still leanin towards a Brown.

here’s a Pa brown trout that one doesn’t have the dark distinct spots ares do, but it could be the angle and lighting not showing the spots
