How many Stagers think the USA will engage the PRC when they move to consolidate Taiwan into their territory? I don't mean diplomatically. I mean militarily.
What do you think?๐ค.

it would be an economic disaster for china to recover taiwan. we would not engage, they would be self destructing.
I had a high school and college classmate who was a U.S. Navy officer and during his active duty regularly sailed up and the South China sea back in the 1960's to protect Taiwan from the mainland communist party leadership in Beijing. I believe we will stand up to them! Just Sayin...RJS

Ya weโll definitely get involved our leaders have to stick their noses in every thing that goes on in the world and if this goof is still in charge when they try it heโll borrow a few more billions from China to give to Taiwan that weโll have to pay back
We will lose some great liberty ports if not.
Even through our "Strategic Ambiguity" policy; I would expect we would allocate military resources.
Taiwan is currently the only producer of high-end semi-conductor chips (until we get our US manufacturing plants up and running thanks to the CHIPS and Science Act).
When, not if, the PRC invades, China would have about 100% of this manufacturing.
The US will not allow this.

Military action would result in an economical Tsunami around the world and unimaginable deaths and disruption that it's not ready for.

When I look around the house or go to the hardware store to buy something itโs unfathomable how many products are made in China.

padrebino,
I agree with you.
What I think I know is that the China take-over of Taiwan decision was made final very long ago.
I consider it inevitable.
Pretty sure Xi has long made that clear.
Readiness?
What the heck do I know? I'd guess increased naval sea and air as well as submarine presence throughout the South China Sea.
I have yet to find reason to think that Taiwan will stand without 3rd party military intervention.
China's plan will be executed and we need to be ready.
Gonna happen on their time table.
Just guessing,
Stephen
