These are the words sung by Tex Ritter which were the theme song of this movie.

“Do not forsake me oh my Darlin, on this our wedding day, I do not know what fate awaits me, I only know I must be brave, and I must face the man who hates me, or lie a coward, a Cravin coward in my grave.
Look at that big hand move along, nearing High Noon!

Did you know this movie got a lot of criticism, and many of the male stars refused to take the role of the sheriff! Many actors thought it was communist inspired and promoted. That it was teaching communist ideals and principals. So, most of the actors, like John Wayne refused to accept the role.

What? You don’t remember seeing this movie which came out in the early 1950’s? It was a hit and had a high attendance.

So, you have an idea why this movie caused such controversy, here is what the theme was: The sheriff of this town had arrested and sent to prison an outlaw. This outlaw vowed to come back and kill the sheriff when he got out.

Now, when the outlaw was released, he got his gang together and were coming into town with the sole purpose of killing the sheriff. The sheriff knows they are coming and tries to recruit some other men to help him, but all turned yellow and refused.

So, the sheriff is left to face the gang of four outlaws. I will not give away the ending, so when you get a chance, you might want to see this classic film. Just Sayin…RJS

I'll have to check that one out!!!
That's all I do when I'm relaxing and not doing all my other crazy hair-brained schemes.
Watching Westerns. Tombstone Territory, Cheyenne, all the John Wayne films, etc.
Not a Western, but also Sergeant Preston of the Yukon.

Awesome!!!
Thanks RJS, for sharing.
You are the best!

I should really confess here a little.
The "shelf" or "entertainment center" if that's still a thing under my TV in my cabin is a vintage dogsled that won the iditarod. I might be a dogsled nerd.
It's possible.

In 'High Noon' Cooper's wife was portrayed by Grace Kelly who was playing a Quaker who didn't believe in violence. Added to the drama. Well worth watching.

"High Noon", a Classic! And Loyd Bridges showed his what he was made of. A Top Shelf movie. Grace Kelly was only 21 when the movie came out in July of 1952. And Tex Ritter is still one of my favorite singers.

3:10 to Yuma was also a 1957 movie. The stars were Glen Ford and Van Heflin, were Glen For had a reversal of rolls from hero to villain. But it was also remade in 2005 or 2006 and was not as good as the original, in my opinion, Mr Dog.
