Was just looking through my tackle stuff , planning a trip to rayburn for 4 days next month . I came across a thing I bought from a lure company ( I won’t name ) called a predator a couple of years ago . It’s a plastic bullet - looking thing that comes with 2 weight discs . I bought the green / black model. Thought it would work good for a Carolina rig . When you submerge it in water , it gives off a low noise that is supposed to attract fish. First , to see if it worked, I put in in a glass of water . Sure enough after AWHILE , it gave off a very , very low chirping noise . So, I put it in about a gallon of water , thinking the sound would amplify . Nope. So I never put it on . I was hoping this thing would be louder than what it was but it wasn’t . Maybe the one I bought was defective ? Anyway, I learned not to pay much attention to gimmicky stuff . Anybody ever done something like I did ? …my 2cents…

I’ve caught bass on the banjo minnow. Not as many as advertised but several.

Up until the last few years I’d never fished for bass. Always a trout fisherman I was.

In 1965 my buddy and I went in together and bought a Ted Williams fish attractor from Sears and Roebuck Company. It had a light that strobed like crazy and a compartment that you loaded the special powder, from Ted Williams of course. We lowered this contraption into the water into a school of sheepshead. When we turned it on those fish scattered in every direction never to return. I believe we gave a few of them heart attacks. When we took it back to get our money refunded the sales guy looked and said, you have clearly used this item and we cannot return your money! From that point on my buddy and I spent our money on worms!!

A Color C Lector, was supposed to tell you the best color artificial bait to use in all types of water. It always read chartreuse no matter if it was clear, stained or muddy water.

Did it ever work for you? I think Ted Williams needed to supplement his baseball income after he retired from the game..... :)

Banjo is back on infomercials. Saw it about a month ago. Don’t know about the minnows but the old style frogs worked great. New and improved kits. ??????? Also twice the original price. No, not a salesman.

This to some may sound rather goofy, but it actually works.
My Uncle Barney was a mechanic and a avid outdoorsman. Instead of investing in fishing sinkers he would tie or thread washers or nuts to his line.
He kept several sizes in his tackle box.
They cam in handy for other projects as well.
Commander Bell out

Helicopter lures by Roland Martin, to tell the truth never tried em , just to funny looking, look like a little boat prop going through the water. Still have the whole set somewhere.
