Ice is not safe. Fire department and others recovered a fisherman and an ATV from the place they had gone in the Bay yesterday. That was sad for everyone involved and could have been avoided. First ice and the possibility of a fish is not worth risking a life but this seems to happen every year. Last year 2 guys drove a side by side out on the lake from which I live 1.5 blocks They said they didn't want advice from anyone because they were experienced even though they were new to the lake. They drove the vehicle right into the lake in a spot where a flowing spring was. It 2 days to make the recovery. It was fishing weekend and they paid an awful price because of pride. BE SAFE OUT THERE PLEASE.

Was out doing some recon at Pine Right yesterday..still 6-8” of solid ice. When you get out you’ll be able to see where it gets unsafe..

Yeah..it could have been avoided if he would have simply looked in front of him! He drove into a open section that didn’t refreeze..there was solid ice all around and he was going too fast. This information is directly from the folks who were out there and saw what happened.
