A few more oldies 😂

Let me know if anyone knows what the last one is, and has anyone ever used a light like the last one in the picture of the lights?
It looks like some kind of a speaker but I don’t know that I have ever seen anything like it before. As far as the lights are concerned I would guess that it is a handheld oil lamp?? Never seen one of those either, at least not in person😁 Thanks Chuck..

We call number 2 a hassock.
Butter rum life savers were great.
I remember calling candy stores and asking if they had Prince Albert in a can. When they answered yes, we'd say 'don't you think you should let him out?'.

Mike the last one is a old smoke detector it works when the heat gets hot enough to melt the solder 🔥
And the light is a carbide light that my grandpa used in the coal mine in Kentucky... The rest of those lights were head lights that was used to work at night with the 6volt battery you wear on your belt giving your hands free to work, we used them for hunting at night 😂
The old seed planter was my grandpa's that he had a mule to pull it, I can remember him using it...

That’s what it was at our house too.

I remember them all. We called it a hassock too. I lived in NY and when we went to visit relatives in NJ we had to bring enough caps since they would not sell them in Jersey.

Chuck, our first washing machine when we were married in 1979 was a wringer and my wife wash the cloth diapers with it for our first born. The drain pump didn't work so she had to let the drain hose down and fill a bucket to then dump. It was a lot of work but we didn't have to go to a laundry mat.

That light is a carbide miners head lamp, dangerous and smelly.

One of the things is that when we had to do extra like that we didn’t mind it. It was just part of life. Now I’m not so sure that kind of thing would be at all acceptable…

My grandmother had a wringer type washer in her kitchen, no dryer though. The bottom picture looks like an early smoke detector. It says on it "Do not paint" so the surface must remain as built.

I think it’s a smoke detector or fire alarm.

I remember all of these and in fact still have a dust pan like that. It's for my garage, but I still have one.
