Do you fish the rocks on the north side of Magens Bay (that would be the right side if you’re standing on the beach looking out towards the ocean) it is hot fishing on that side of the bay especially morning and hour before sunset. That’s when the fry and Spratt follow the coastline in and out of the bay. we use more bait and lures as you know the water so clear you can site fish them if you’re standing up on the rock looking down I’ll throw a handful of fry in and my boys have a couple on the hook as it slowly settles they hit it we have also used spoons, Flies with a bober, and some small swimming yozori that mimic the bait. there are days where you see their backs coming through the top of the water just look for the diving pelicans, There are also some yellowtail and Jack’s mixed in hope you’re successful

Yea, we’re on the right side looking out from the beach about in the middle. We watch the birds diving and follow them , we throw hair jigs, Johnson spoons, swim baits , ect. We’ll be down there on Feb. 13th to the 20th. We put the lights on at night and the big Tarpon come in for the minnows. I guess we must get live bait. Do you have any specific lures for the jacks?

Yeah the tarpon are awesome to watch at night as they roll and cut through the bait. A small cast net would be a great thing for you, I would ask the villa manager if they have one. The lures you mentioned that you use for Tarpon will work with the jacks we also catch Spratt in the cast net which the jacks love. there are bar jacks, blue runners, cravele,Mackerel and occasional pompanos. we use the flies on spinning rods that’s why we use a bobber so that we can cash them out there I even use them on a snapper popper. A fly that seems to work pretty good has a Moss green top black center white belly with a mylar stripe going down the center also we have another one that has similar colors but the top is blue and black again we just try to mimic the bait.Does the villa have kayaks
