I get offers for free stuff and all I have to do is pay shipping. I look at it, if I have to pay something it’s not free. So I ignore the offer.

That Frank is a definite possibility 👍👍

I need your opinions! I have gotten several emails about being a tackle tester for a few places. After doing some research I see that they want me to pay for shipping. I am always down for getting tackle and trying new stuff for bass fishing even though I am a big fan of Googan baits. Has anyone ever participated in being a tackle tester? Are there pros and cons for it? Any info.i get would be extremely helpful. Thanks.

No legit company is going to ask for money for shipping or otherwise. I used to do a lot of product testing, and its all free to you in exchange for "honest reviews" posted on Amazon. I never paid for anything.

The other year I saw this guy on the Jersey shore boardwalk bet people he could guess their age, weight, occupation, etc. It cost $5 to play and if you won you got to pick from a bunch of prizes one could easily buy in any dollar store. And the guesser buys them wholesale for much less. I watched a family of 7 people play. They were so happy that 2 of them had won until the youngest noted that the 2 "prrizes" cost them $35. They weren't so happy after that.

Point is that anyone can make lures for very little cost then ship them themselves for about $2. "Shipping" usually includes a handling charge making it $20 or more. The seller may not care what the "tester" thinks. Like the person guessing on the boardwalk, he wins either way. Caveat emtor!

Be careful if they ask you if you want a drug test, I fell for that one and now I’m the only person who will hire me. I’m self employed and my boss is a jerk.
Don’t let this happen to you!

Seems worth a try. Only if you’re the inventive/creative/out of the box kinda fisherman though.

Buy a credit card that you can reload with any amount of money that you want instead of using your regular credit card.

Well with all the people saying Don't Do It I think I will just delete that and if I can block them from being able to contact me.

I just got an email that I won a prize from ace hardware all I had to do was fill out a questionnaire. Deleted email if I won something just send it to me don’t ask for my information.

I don't believe any pros have to pay anything.
I would think that they would kinda be like a sponsor. You don't have to pay them, do you?
If they contacted you to test THEIR tackle, then why should you have to pay anything?
I would tell them " I'll test anything you send me but I'm not payin you to send me stuff."
That's JMO though.
