There actually still hitting if you can find a somewhat calm day on Erie but that's rare this time of year and the boat is in my garage until spring getting a few little upgrades . Can't wait till April.

Awesome Smalljaws Smallyguy! Our state record is only 7lb 12oz, and I believe I lost a contender this year. Good luck in 2024.

The Erie record got smashed 2 yrs back by a father son team . 10.25 or something like that it was crazy fat . They actually caught it out in the western basin not far out of cataba but the Canadian line comes in real close there so it wasn't a Ohio record per say. But what a giant!

Those Gobies are like a protein shake for the Smallmouth. I believe all the records will fall out there, in the very near future.

I will be posting this spring looking to take out any veterans , disabled vets , fire fighters , law enforcement when I have a open seat which is often. I'm in North East Ohio but do most of my spring fishing from Geneva to Erie. I would enjoy putting a our vets , EMT firefighters, and law enforcement on some hogs.

Some of 23s catches. My musky catch was down for the year but had a decent year otherwise. How about you guys and gals

Looks like you had a good year!
My year I would call average catch rate with only 1 skunk. The exception to that was the 3 days at Buoy 10 on Columbia River. The planets must have aligned. Weather and tides were incredible. We (only 2 of us the first 2 days) had in the net 16 Kings anywhere between 15 - 30#s. Of those, 4 were keepers (adipose fin clipped hatchery). At one point we had a double- I had to put my rod in the holder to grab a net. Crazy wild fun shxt!

The You Tube of our first day on the water says it all.

It is a Sacramento Pikeminnow, native to Calif. but most people think of them as a trash fish. I don't fish for them but every year a catch a few mostly on spinners fishing for trout. They put up a good fight.

Our fallfish is considered trash fish by most. They look kinda similar. Wonder if that’s where creek chub lures came up with the pikeyminnow.

Caught one last September fishing for trout. Thought I had a monster trout till I got em in close. Released em.
