Just moved to Longview, WA and started fly fishing this summer. Looking for access and technique information on the Coweeman, Kalama, and Lewis Rivers. Interested in trout, steelhead, and salmon.

Hey, Dwayne, I'm fairly new to Longview, too. I fly fish with my Tenkara rods and can say with 100% confidence that it's really hard to find access to rivers and creeks up here. There are a few good spots, but I've found the trout to be 4"-6", so not much excitement there.

Good luck!

P.S. See...I didn't even need to write a couple of books about it...

I moved to Vancouver a little over 4 years ago also one problem that I have also found out is where you do have access for fishing during the summer, months you'll find people playing in the water.

Hey, Campy, we moved up here from the Couv. I had some pretty good luck on Salmon Creek - once you get out of the pond area - and the Washougal River...

HI so I have fished non fly on the Kalama river there is a few spots to go that are public use and Discovery pass usually when the steelhead are running there are people there but if you fly fish and wade down stream a bit it is good

as you travel east past the RV park (along the freeway) go along the river road past the small store and you will find a parking with toilets within a mile or so
