Well, friends, neighbors, and members of Fishing Stages Forum, if you don’t have a Buccee’s near you now, just wait, you are likely to shortly!
I want to tell a personal antidote before going into the biography of these two entrepreneurs.
When I began as a novice stockbroker with Merrill Lynch back in the early 1980’s, I cold-called Arch Beaver Apin III. This first call went well, and I felt he could become a good prospect as an investor! We left it that I would call back with some suggestions for him to consider investing.
Well, a few weeks passed, and I called again. Arch was out of pocket and whoever the kid was I was calling had little or no knowledge, or pretended he didn’t, so I forgot about Arch and Buckee’s as an investor, much to my later regret. After all, there are loads of one service station owners in Houston.
At present there are 41 Bucees’s spread across the U.S. The company has brought its one-of-a-kind travel centers to other states like Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. At this moment, a new Buccee’s is being prepared to open in Colorado.
The Buccee’s empire was built by two Texans and is now worth over $500 million. Arch Beaver Apin III is a graduate of Texas A. & M.
They opened their first Buccee’s in Lake Jackson in 1982, featuring cheap ice and clean restrooms. Their expansion was slow at first, but it is gaining speed.
I recall in my tour with Humble Oil and Refining Company, (now Exxon) we always insisted on ‘clean restrooms’.
I do know that, at least in Texas, the regular unleaded gasoline sold by Buccee’s has no ethanol. I don’t know how they do it, but I prefer their blend of gasoline.
While there are no sales of shares of Buccee’s stock today, eventually this will be a hot item. When and if, they decide to
venture into the frozen north, keep your eyes open for that opportunity. Just Sayin…RJS
They're building one in southern Wi.

Been to one in Florida, truly a Mega rest stop experience. Probably buy some stuff you don’t even need!😁
Well, Hoss if you needed it, you would probably have already bought some! Just Sayin...RJS
dbed
Loc: POMME DE TERRE LAKE MISSOURI
They opened one in Springfield Missouri this morning
Wow! They are certainly on a 'quick march' in different parts of the north.
Regarding their stores, I believe you would be astonished to go and experience one. They are huge. You could almost live in one. Just Sayin...RJS
There is one being built just north of Dayton, OH. Seems kinda fitting for the Buckeye State , huh?
Yes, and pardon my somewhat lack of knowledge ( I only managed 23 stations for a year plus~) but these guys know how to build a business. It takes a lot of money to have 45 to 50 of these monster service stations, even in Texas!
There must be a story there somewhere?????
Wow! Craiga937 where have you been? I thought I was presenting a story as full of facts as I could. I did not personally interview either partner. I don't live close to Lake Jackson, Tx any more. Just Sayin...RJS

Picture of their mascot I took in Daytona for those interested. Fun looking fella!
They have one in ky,sc,ga, and 2 in Tn I was just at the largest one this morning it’s currently the largest gas station in the world it took the crown from the bucees in new branfels I have been to it also but Texas will be king again before long they’re currently building a larger one there
Well, there is probably an upper limit for just how big these super-sized stations can grow to. Just Sayin...RJS
As a stock broker and advisor for almost 30 years, I suggest if you want to buy shares of Buccees, tell your broker now.
I experienced the Catch22 when dealing with new stock offering.
Here is the first catch. Since to brokerage that is responsible for new offering, they are going to allow their institutional customers have first shot, meaning those who have the most trading are going to be allowed the most.
All retail customers are left sucking hind tit! Unless you have been trading and have established a sizeable account with your brokerage, you might as well wait for the stock on the open market! No bull, just offering facts unfortunately! Just Sayin...RJS
I stopped at the Bucees across from the Texas Motor Speedway. ThT Bucees had almost 250 gas pumps and 30 urinals in the men’s room.
