I've caught a few while casting for Stripers.
Ours are Bat Ray's though.
However, those are foul hooked and really hard to bring in.
2 different ones were over 3 feet, wingtip to wingtip. Way too big to net. But we did get the lure back after bout 15 min fight.🤠👍

Yep, a cow nose. That thing took off, back and forth, it was fun.

Wow...yours were foul hooked, I bet that was a fight! Here's a 51" Eagle ray I caught surf fishing, estimate it at 45 lbs. Best fight of a fish I ever had on 20 lb mono.

I got a nice one on the lower Potomac right before covid hit.
We was getting ready to go back out after lunch.
I tied on a brand new hair jig.
Standing on the dock I made a cast .
Though darn I'm stuck. Them realized my thumb was burning.
I told Big D to get the boat in the water.
I was all but spooled by then.
We caught up to it.
Finally got it to surface n saw what it was.
Donnie grabbed the gaff n slammed at it a couple times.
Hit my line n broke it. New hair jig gone that fast 🤬
12lb fluorocarbon

If we didn't get the boat in the water I don't know if I could have brought it in.
Always fun to make those crazy catches brother 👍🤣

One of the guys I was fishin with in the boat caught one bout that size once.
Had to fight that thing for bout a half hour.
Thought we were goin to just have to cut the line , but we finally got it next to the boat and got the lure back.
We use 30 # braid. 🤠👍😥

Saw they are all muscle.
The one I got at OBX put up a heck of a fight.
I was fishing near a boat ramp. Finally got it on the ramp n popped the hook.
25lb mono that time.
Was on Patuxent river near Solomons Island MD.
Doing some crabbing n fishing.
Coming into the dock I saw a guy on a center console.
He had a rod in his hand n he kept walking around in the boat.
We're like what does he have.
First thing he caught was a rod.
Guy on the dock wasn't paying attention n his rod took off.
Guy in the boat saw the rod n got it n the fight was on.
Big old Ray.
They'll test your equipment

That must have been a fun ride DV.
I hooked one once fishing in my kayak. I got towed for about half a mile before my line broke. 8lb test if I remember right.
