Hey Grizz when I took my state contractors license test in 1974 they didn’t tell us we could use a calculator and there were questions that involved some math, which was my best required class that I took but the test would have been quicker with the calculator. I only learned to use my iPad in 2014. Never used the fax machine we had for our business or the copier or computer.

Math was my best subject.
Every job I worked required math.

When I'm balancing my check book I do it mentally then check with calculator.
Just to stay focused πŸ‘

THREE Shop Rites, a very large chain, did not have any mince meat pies so far. The Commissary at McGuire AFB doesn't even have the bottled stuff so far. I've one option left however which I'll try Tuesday.
Apparently consumer demand is fading.

Major, Give Aldi's a call. I know ya got lotsa them in NJ. They used to carry that pie around hunting season until Christmas up here in CT. Good Luck.

I think math was the most important class from grade school thru high school. You use it your whole life. I majored in industrial arts. I new early on that I was going to make a living with my hands not my brain. I had wood shop, metal shop, electronic shop and auto shop. Been working on cars and trucks since junior high. Built a go cart in Jr high. Thought I wanted to be a mechanic until I worked for a Chevrolet agency in the parts dept and got to know mechanics who did well and got the best work if they were in good with the dispatcher, and those that weren’t in with him got all the crappy lower paying work. I went from the dealership to a union sheet metal worker for 2 years then a union carpenter in the garage door industry for 45 years the last 37 years owning my own company. Math was important to me, don’t want to make a mistake bidding jobs.

This thread has taken some detours but overall I never thought it would hit 15 pages.
Well done, Plum.

Being over the hill, I've developed a lack of interest in what's over the next one. Now, around the corner is a whole nother story.
