Hey yall I'm in Fort Smith,,New to the area and love catfishing the river, but I haven't found "that" spot. Any suggestions that might help a feller out?
Hello D.T.: I suggest trying to find a large Catfish hole by finding a cave under a rock cliff, or under a large pile of sunken tree or brush. It is usually inhabited by a large catfish! Also, they feed more often at night or early in the morning, like 2 or 3 AM. Just Sayin...RJS
Cats start at the Arkansas River at its exit from the Rockies, at the inlet to Pueblo Res. They are plentiful in the reservoir, the outlet and below. As it nears Pueblo it gets harder to get to the water due to private property. There are good spots exerting Pueblo with access. Further downstream it becomes harder to find access. You will recognize holding pools all up and down. Good fishing
