I fished Lake Pleasant one afternoon this past week before the rain came in. The lake was like glass from 1pm - 5:30pm with virtually no other boats and no jet skis on the north end. Water temp was 76 degrees in the Humbug - Agua Fria area of the lake. We trolled and casted larger crank baits, swim baits, and spinners for over two hours without a single hit. Marked plenty of large fish and bait balls in 20-30 feet of water but no takers. Around 4pm we started seeing bait balls coming to the surface. Not like the typical boils but just a circular ripple in an otherwise smooth surface. We changed to 1/8 oz roadrunners with curly tailed jigs and the white bass action took off.
I wish we would have started with smaller baits earlier in the afternoon. Spoke with one fisherman just coming in to the ramp at Castle Creek at 5:50pm. He had been back in the Castle Creek arm and also had good luck with white bass. Most of the white bass we caught were about 12-13". Not big but a lot of fun.

I owned a ranch on Castle Creek about 1/4 mile from the high water mark. Worked too much to enjoy the lake.
Glad you're getting to enjoy it!

I retired as a judge in 2020. I hate retirement. I could have continued as a part time judge another 10 years.
When I had the ranch, I was a real estate developer and worked way too much. Sold Castle Hot Springs, 3 miles up the road from me, a few times.
do not know how you could hate retirement
