After much consideration and discussion with friends we decided to put Molly down. With sad hearts we took her to the vet and had her put to sleep forever. Brought her home and buried her in the corner of our lot.

That's a hard thing to do, but for the best sometimes. So sorry for your loss and your heartache.

Very sorry to hear about Molly, they become a member of the family and sometimes it's the right thing to do for them, we had to put down our 165lb. Bull mastiff (Buckshot) a couple years ago he had cancer and after about $5000 and six months of him suffering it was time to give him some peace 🙏 haven't gotten another one yet. 🙏🙏🙏

My sympathies to all, Wednesday we had to put Daffy to rest. We adopted her in the Spring of 2010. She has been going downhill for a couple of years, but medications slowed down the decline.
In reality, we were keeping her going selfishly for us. She really wasn't in a lot of pain (but she was never one to show or express pain either, so that's a hard to judge thing) but she didn't have much of a quality of life either.
After coming in from outside, after doing her "chores", she run around the living room, chasing her two kitties for a couple of victory laps, then go lay down and sleep.
RIP Daddy's Princess, you've earned it.

Can so relate dbed. We had to do the cat from hell ( spotsy ) many years ago and most recent my best friend although a dog ( Max ). Not an easy task especially when burying them.
Tear ducts get cleaned out for a day or two, but memories of better days will never leave you. So, I send you our condolences and wishes that time heals your heart.
I remember that day when I was where you are now. My Brittany was my reliable hunting partner and I'm not ashamed to say that I cried that day and I think the reason I never got another dog is because of the hurt I went through that day. The pain will pass but the memory will always be with you.

I’m so sorry to see this, Ed. Such a hard thing to do and to go through. Sending sympathy to you and yours. ❤️
Dbed…euthanasia is absolutely the LAST/BEST thing that you can do for your friend…
You have fed her, taken care of her, and loved her all these years she needs your assurance
that what is about to happen is going to be okay because you have her back as she has
had yours for all these years…
And for God sakes be there with her. She has loved you, been by your side, and trusted
you for all these years so don’t just dump her off and be on your way as she needs you to
assure her that everything is right in both of your worlds…
Euthanasia is the toughest thing you learn in vet school and at many times I wished I had
never learned how…I was a 3rd year vet student when I performed my first euthanasia at the
request of a Professor that I admired and I thought about it every time I performed a euthanasia.
Fifty years later I went to visit him in Hospice and he apologized for making me perform it without
him present to support me…NO ONE is gonna give you the same option when you are lying on your
death bed for days or weeks.

Been there, done that. My heart goes out to you 😢🙏
Prayers go out to you. It is never an easy thing to do.

Dbed, so sorry for your loss. I do hope you were with her when she went, they do look for their people when that happens. Hope the pic will give you some relief.
Sorry to hear that, I had to put my dog down week before Christmas last year. I know how you feel. I look at her picture every morning and talk to her.
