FWC website posted August 2022 " Temporary Changes in Snook and Redfish regulations"

Saw that Bob. That was on the West coast of Fl. and expired already.

Temporary regulation modifications for snook, redfish and spotted seatrout in a portion of southwest Florida will expire Aug. 31, 2022

FWC approves changes for snook in state waters following final rule hearing
At its October meeting, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved new management regions and regulations for snook in state waters following the final rule hearing.

These regulations, which go into effect Jan. 1, 2024, will:

Establish nine snook management regions.
Establish open seasons as well as bag and slot limits for each region, which are detailed below:

Panhandle, Big Bend, Tampa Bay, Sarasota Bay

Open season: March – April, September – November

Bag limit: one fish

Slot limit: 28-33 inches

Charlotte Harbor, Southwest

Open season: March – April, October – November

Bag limit: one fish

Slot limit: 28-33 inches

Southeast, Indian River Lagoon, Northeast

Open season: February – May, September – Dec. 14

Bag limit: one fish

Slot limit: 28-32 inches

As part of this new management approach, FWC staff intends to monitor and evaluate these regulations annually. To see the latest snook annual reviews, which provide a summary of the snook fishery status in each management region, visit MyFWC.com/Snook.

“Through innovative management strategies like this, which allow us to be agile in our response to concerns, we are ensuring that Florida’s future generations of anglers will have access to this iconic fishery,” said FWC Chairman Rodney Barreto.

My area isn't even on that chart. See the pink at the bottom.

Wow. Wonder what area the keys fall under. That's where I fish.

I'm staying in the Anchorage Hotel on Jewfish Creek in a few weeks. I'm shore-based, so most of the creek is out of reach. I'll try drifting a pinfish or mullet at night this trip. Thanks for the tip.

You are going to be in a perfect place. Go across the road from the Anchorage to that tributary that runs north south. Start in front of the bait shop next to black water siren restaurant and fish walking on the water pipe all the way toward Jewfish creek channel at night or early morning . I have caught many there.

Thanks for the specific location. I've fished under the bridge before but always used artificial Fish Bites shrimp or mullet without much luck. I think I'm getting a little bit smarter now, so this time, I will take my cast net to see if I can catch some live bait. By the way, I think the bait shop is something else now.

Yes it's new .Snook hardly ever bite on cut dead bait, lures work good.

I only go off shore
Read that earlier in this post. Wind is keeping me from going off shore up here also.
