Hey everyone I'm Matt and I am interested to know where the best place for shore and river bank fishing is around shiawassee County I know about the shiawassee River spots more looking for some help with finding out some honey hole spots and fishing Hotspot. I would also like to see what you all think the best lures and gear to use out here just moved here from the pacific northwest and the fishing is a alot different here in southeast Michigan and I am trying to learn a little more about the area
Never fished or canoed the Saginaw (nice river though!) But grew up nearby & creek chub lures worked well for pike in the Red Cedar. Or MEPPS / spinner or spoons, of course floating a minnow off a bobber might get most anything too. No info or knowledge of spots lots of videos out there for top water rat, mouse, duckling, etc. Please report back on any days on the river.
Hello! I have only fished a couple of places around you. I used to take the two younger boys downtown, behind the armory. We caught a lot of 12-13 inch smallies. We caught a fair number of smallmouth at Shiatown Park, also. Youngest son caught some pike there also.
