The Wife and I fished our final scheduled tournament for the year yesterday. We still have our classic next month, but we are pretty much done for the year. We finished fourth, one place out the money, but I still caught enough that I should be locked in for Angler of The Year. Fishing was tough for most of the boats with only just over 10 lbs in 6 fish taking 1st and just over 6lbs taking third. We finished 4th with 5.82. I managed to boat the 2 smallies in the picture and 1 spot in the last hour, and prior to that all the wife and I could boat were shorts...

A very respectable showing Doc. AOY is a testament to your consistency and you definitely deserve it, so congratulations on that score.
Good luck in the Classic if you go.
Thanks Fred,
What I'm really proud of is how well my wife has done. She's really been a trooper having never fished before this year. She's hung in there in good weather and bad, and put her time in not only during the tournaments but in practice as well. She's gone from not wanting anything to do with fishing, to wanting to fish on through the winter... I don't know how many times the weather will allow us to fish this winter, but there's a distinct possibility the bucks on my property will get a reprieve this year!

That's great Doc. It's always better if they share your passion rather than resenting it. When I had my 28 footer, in Long Island Sound, my wife also shared my love for fishing. She's grown out of it nowadays, but understands that I haven't.
Things should be looking up for you guys next season, now that she has a year under her belt. If she wants to continue when weather allows, by all means, indulge her. You're a lucky man my friend.
Fred,
I do feel lucky she's enjoying the fishing, maybe not as much as me, but enough that I think she'll continue. I've been trying to get her to do it for years and I do like that it gives us something to do together....
