Hey, gang. What are your favorite jigs for bluegill? I like maribous and tiny tubes.

I'm thinking of switching my ultralight to flouro. What do you like about it?

I catch more fish π on fluorocarbon than mono because it is less visible to the fish and it sinks. A fisherman who uses 1 lb test fluorocarbon in Carnegie Lake in the winter usually catches the most fish everyday.

You donβt need to re-spool with 100% fluoro, just tie on a 10β fluoro leader. You should be fine. It does disappear under water (per the experts).

Won't the knot catch in the guides or coming off the reel? I've never fished with anything but mono, so I've never tied a leader before.

You can use a shorter leader like 3β.
IF you want to really have fun with Blue Gill, get a 1/4 inch Bass Popper, tie it to 2 foot of 8 LB Mon and them tie the mono to the Fly line on a Fly Rod. Half the time they try to hit it, they don't have it in their mouth. Great fun pulling them in on a Fly Rod by hand.
