The first home I remember wearing diapers in was in Burkburnett Texas, with my four years older brother Mike, was a rental but my folks bought a brand new wood frame house, with a small barn and chicken coop behind the it for $5,500 with a $50 a month mortgage payment that the builder carry the note. With some sort of interest it took roughly 10 years with his dad working then to pay it off. You can't even buy a decent cheap Jon boat for that now. But we have a million dollars worth of memories built with friends I hung out with schools we went to were simple math, English, history and sports at recess playing football in baseball. Kids settled disagreement across the street and shook hands when it was done. Life will not be that simple ever again what do you think?

The first home I remember was a 1900s farm house dad bought when he came home from WW2. In 1950 we got electricity and with that indoor plumbing dad had neighbors help dig a septic system all by hand one thing I remember is dad coming home with beer for the guys. The only time he did that. I was 21/2 years old
My first home was built by my father while him and my mother lived in a camping trailer on the lot in mid 1940s. He hand dug the basement and mixed concrete in a wheelbarrow for the floor. The walls were concrete blocks. The house is still there 25 or so years after they passed. Lots of memories from that old house and neighborhood. I drive by it from time to time to try and relive some memories. It's only about 20 miles from where I live now.
After moving from here to Montana in 76 and back in 92, I am in the house I was born in, the house my Mother and Grandma were born in.
It's a big 2 story farm house with a daylight basement. The main kitchen is in the basement where we fed the field hands. Our refrigerator was a cold pantry off the kitchen. We changed out the wood heat for a oil furnace and electric range in 50. Except for a few years Mom and Dad were alone there have been 3 generations living here at any one time
With my Steve and Sherri 's Doug gone it's getting harder for me and my Daughters and Granddaughter to keep the place up.

Wow MM, that's really something that y'all still have and live in the same house. I would be willin to say that you might be the only one on the stage to still live in the same house that you, your Mom and Grandma were born in.
My prayers are with you for things to get easier for you to continue to live there.😊🙏
