Received yesterday from local bait company
58 dollars for a fishing license, 18 dollars 2nd pole, salmon season closed, special regulations for rock cod, section 13000-130014 California fish and wildlife code, states that 33 percent of license fees collected must go to hatchery and planted trout which is not happening, now this, California anglers we need a refund davey ducks
There won’t be anymore steelhead or Salomon seasons if they don’t let us take some of these hungry stripers out of these rivers 🤷♂️

Stripers are not even native. What justification could they possibly have for protecting them?
That’s what I was thinking earlier 🤷♂️
I kinda heard that it’s for research.

Ya problem is, once they take it we ain’t getting it back! Once they start requiring a tag for something it’s down hill from there. Sturgeon is a good example. Diving for abalone even a better example. We live in a playground for fishing, pretty soon you’ll be looking through a fence at the water with a sign that says do not enter, State of CA. Sorry sore subject!!
What I'm trying to say is California fish and wildlife they need money ,hunting licenses are down, from 500,000,to now 150,000,we buy fishing licenses, then fish and wildlife close seasons, there was a kids only fishing event in Milpitas, 40 kids caught 2fish that is what the ranger told me,so I guess fish and wildlife are the next to go bankrupt

Ya I get it. But seems like everyone has their hand out. Most tags start out free, then they charge and it goes up yearly as does the license. And where does the money actually go. I have zero issues with wardens, but certainly do with the higher ups. It seems it’s all about the politics these days. What reasons do they give for the big drop for license purchases? I’d like to read whatever they put out.
Yea the head guys, probably make 200,000 a year, with paid holidays and vacations, now the new ammo tax the governor just this week adds 11 percent on all ammo, so the tax will be 20percnt,so less hunting licenses sold, the governor was really smug when signing the new tax, what about the duck clubs all in Central valley, the members pay water taxes, state taxes, assessment fees,I guess there will be some more parking lots ,more concrete, more urban sprawl, more traffic, guess that's good for the developers

I heard our Licenses fee go in General fund now. need to check it out..Gas taxes go to General fund now thats so wrong if it does..if I wasn't so damn old I would be moving out of Calif.
PLEASE send an email, before the Oct.11 hearings, in opposition to this crazy proposal. The future of our currently endangered Salmon and Steelhead runs, particularly in the Sacramento River watershed, is a stake!!
