Rods for striper

Will bass rods work for striper? I'm going to fish a river tomorrow with lmb and striper and I'd like to target both species. For striper I'm planning on using a 7' 3" mh with a spook, and a 7' mh with a rattle trap. Will these hold up to fish 30" plus fish?

Yeah they'll handle it without any problem I never use anything past medium-heavy and 20 lb test for striper out in the Chesapeake Bay

I caught a 20 inches on a med light ugly stick with the original plastic Shakespeare reel and got it up over a small pier. The line snapped as soon as the fish hit the deck lol.
