Trout prefer cold well oxygenated water. Bass tend more toward warmer water and lots of cover. This time of year as the surface temp drops bass go deep, and trout rise. So. How deep are you fishing?

Bass both LMB & SMB eat trout so I’d say no... never seen them schooled up together ever.... seen bass and crappie or bluegill never trout.

Big Cannon Lake in South Central Ontario....caught lots of Lake Trout and Small Mouth Bass in the same water 2 to 4 weeks after ice out. Also a few Northern and an occasional Muskie, but no Walleye.
