I’m gonna spend 100 most likely. Should I get an SLX or something else? I can’t decide.

SLX or Daiwa Fuego CT (amazon has pretty good prices on it). I have both and can't decide a clear winner between the two.

Yep, pretty much my feeling on that price range. I think I prefer the Fuego, but it's definitely close.

Amazon has a deal on concept z reels for 100 that's stealing ....
--
by j_sword67
Very true. It's pretty much twice that price normally, and performs very well, even if it is a little weird at first to use.

I think them being liquidated speaks volumes about the quality of the reel.
13Fishing advertised the crap out of that reel, like it was this bleeding edge fishing tech but the reviews don't back it up.

Lews speed spool is pretty nice for $99. Either that or the daiwa fuego ct- got mine for $70 off amazon, a pretty great deal

I love my Speed Spool LFS, but the $100 tier has some pretty great options and it's pretty hard to choose wrong here between Shimano, Daiwa, Lews, etc.

A Tatula can be had for close to that.

SLX is the ticket. I’ve moved on from several more expensive reels in favor of going all SLX. I’ve got 2 of the OG and one DC (take it or leave it. I don’t like it any more or less than the original and it’s pricier).
