Went through the search and couldn't really find anything about length on a streamer rod. Ive settled on a 6wt, looking at the recon series. Curious about length. Fishing for mostly trout in Colorado and Wyoming. 9' seems better for rivers, 9'6 or 10' for stillwater, maybe bass on that too? Im used to a 10' euro rod so the length doesn't scare me, but wouldnt want it to be unmanageable either. Thanks for any help.

You don't need anything long for streamers. A man I guide with who knows far more about rods than I ever will throws a 9' 5wt with a fairly hefty double streamer rig and sinking line. That being said I think any of your options will work fine it just comes down to personal preference.

Two of my most used kayak/canoe bass streamer rods are 7'11" 8wts. The rest are general purpose 9' 8wts. For trout I use 9' moderate action 6wts.

A 9’ 8wt is going to be all you need for streamer chuckin until you get into giant flies. I bought the Redington crosswater 8wt combo from basspro for $150 and it’s been great. Came with rod, reel, line, leader, and case. I bought another reel with a sink tip line and it loads great on it too. Only downside is no warranty on that rod. I’d go with a TFO if I had to get another 8wt.

Average streams 9’6 weight very adequate.
The lines the thing , I use Teeny T series in heavy waters, Teeny mini tip in moderate flows !
Keep leader short , to maintain depth I settled on about 4/5’ for 90%!of my streamer fishing
Can you use large streamers on spinning rod
