Sorry it didn't help; it isn't carved in stone, but it has usually helped me recover more quickly in the past ! Don't know if you included anything with chili peppers (like chili ?), but they are high in vitamins B6, C, and antioxidants ! Ever since I've started eating chili and other spicy foods like Cajun or Mexican, I've had fewer, less severe colds, and no flu since my last bout back in '79 ! It really does help !

My wife just reminded me that we haven’t had the soup for about a week, and that I WAS getting better when we were eating it, so she’s going to make some more and include the peppers. I’m sure I’ll soon be on the mend. Thanks Big A !! You may have just saved me a co-pay at the dr.’s office.

Good ! Hope it helps and that you feel better soon ! Haven't had a bad cold or a 'bug' in quite a while; HAVE had several bouts of food poisoning in the recent past though, so there is that ! Make a really lousy patient; my mood and attitude go right down the toilet
when/if I get that sick ! NASTY !

It has been awhile since I heard the puppy one. It is great. OK, the pepper thing. I raise peppers, which include jalapeño,habanarro, ghost and others. I dry them, then grind them up and use them in making bison, venison chilies. Yes, it helps to ward off colds and so forth. It has been one of my winter defenses for many years. Anyone have any good recipes?

Randy you and my Mrs. picked up on that. Some of us just had other ( dirty ) thoughts on our minds I guess.

I’ve tried exactly that! Wife made some homemade spicy chicken noodle soup with chunks of chicken and bow-tie pasta in place of noodles, but still not well after a week of eating it. Sure was good tho!

Randy since its not working I will send you my address for the left overs, no sense wasting what sounds so good. Get well my friend, spring fishing is being pushed up this year.

Sitn: Once, some years back, I got the bright idea to try hanañeros instead of jalapeños to spice up my chili ! Spiced it up, alright ! My friends and I NAMED that batch; we called it 'Arizona Al's Masochistic Chili' ! No joke ! It was so hot that you literally had to be a true masochist just to eat it, much less enjoy it ! I had one small bowl that bothered me for three days; scorched my lower intestines ! Mornings felt like 'pyroflatulence'
(flaming butt syndrome), and no one else even dared try it after one small taste each ! Never again will I make chili at that heat level ! I swear, some days I can still feel the burn !

Got it ! And yes, it certainly did feel that way ! I've never tried this but my younger brother did this one day when he was about 14-15, and hasn't done it since ! My mother
and I were playing cribbage at the kitchen table one rainy Saturday afternoon when he steps out of the bathroom in his skivvies and wrapped in a towel ! He sits in the chair next to my mother, takes the towel off and lifts his legs into a 'frog' position; takes her lighter off the table, holds it next to his 'back door', lights the lighter and 'rips' one out ! A 2-ft. green flame (nitrous sulfide exhaust) blasts out of his butt, but not satisfied with the result, he tries it AGAIN !
Second time, he ran out of pressure prematurely; the flame burned a small hole in his skivvies and he was dragging his butt around on the floor like a dog out on the lawn ! My mother and I laughed so hard we had tears in our eyes for the next fifteen minutes ! Never saw him ever try it again !
