Its more fun to sight fish than using electronic eyes. But do what you want. Focus your gadget while I focus my eyes. But wait, I am also cheating with my polarized sunglasses. Bottom line is the bass are not becoming an endangered species. Mother nature is smarter than man. The bigger the fish finder the bigger the bass brain gets. I love Mother nature and Father time.

Well, it seems as though I’ve riled some of you up... good, this forum needs a bit of spice! Look, I get it, if you’re a guide, a guy who can only fish once in a blue moon then then go ahead, plug in your electronics. I’m talking about FISHING! Once you’ve changed Man vs Mother Nature into your favor, your cheating. Period!!! Video game fishing is NOT fishing. Putting around a lake, looking for bass on your electronics for two hours, finding them, then catching em is simply laziness. I’m not saying your a lazy person, I’m saying the act is lazy. And, if you think REAL fishing is relying on a computer screen to find fish... then fishing is in a sad state. Again, I challenge all you video game fisherman to turn off the electronics, go to a new body of water and go fishing. Read all the signs Mother Nature allows you to see... do this, let’s say, 5 times. Zero electronics. If anything, it will definitely make you a better angler, force you to be more aware of your surroundings, and give you a bit more respect for Mother Nature. Some may say electronics are just another tool that a fisherman uses to catch fish. I’ve pondered that argument and say B.S.! Your mind is a tool, lures are tools, bait, rods, reels, line are tools. Your boat is a means to be able to use your tools. Electronics weaken your mind ( why think, the computer will tell me what to do, where/when to fish ) and definitely stagnate your learning and true progression in the sport. So, of course, fish as you as you like, enjoy yourself, have fun... just try it electronic free a few times. You may find out that you really do suck at REAL fishing... or, you may be even more advanced than you thought. You’ll never find out staring into a computer screen 🤷🏼‍♂️🏄🏼‍♂️🎣

Ok, so does that mean if you use your vehicle GPS then you suck at reading maps? Does this mean if you use your cell phone to make a call your too stupid to use a rotary phone? Since you watched a video of people using electronics does that mean you should get rid of your VCR or DVD player because you cheated to learn about electronics? What about hunting? Should hunters be allowed to use game cameras, scopes, GPS, or assault rifles to kill something? Why not go back to old school with a pointed stick or hand made bow and arrows, that would be more fair to the game and prove you are a real hunter.
Honestly I think I get what your saying but fish finders are still just another “tool” to assist with catching fish. I have been fishing my whole life with and without electronics. As I said before I use them for certain things (depth, temp, safe boating, and navigation). That’s how I use them, the pros use them to locate fish because that’s their livelihood. No different then commercial fisherman using their electronics for their livelihood.
