Went sauger fishing this evening and my buddy caught this on a 1/4 oz jig

That's a big sauger, what did he think he had on?
That’s a big girth - what does it weigh?
Not sure what it weighed it was heavy
We was below Belleville dam on the Ohio river.
This time of year back east and below dams is a great time to catch Cats. They're getting ready to winter up down there in the still water. Is that a flathead or a channel, can't see the tail fin. If it's a flathead it's really surprising that it would take a jig. They usually eat other fish. Big ones.
Wm nice catch.
When they are hungry a mosquito is a snack size sometimes doesn't matter.
Microlight poles spider wire or the likes and large spool capacity a lot of fun to be had work the drag.
Had an uncle caught a 42#der on perch on a 202 zebco out of a local lake 45 minutes or so fight.
It’s is most definitely a flat head. My granddad holds the state record on flats. I held the state record channel cat.
My channel cat. From 1994 to 2004
I saw your wall in another post but didn't realize this was on it. Also a musky that was trying to knock you over. OK. I'm impressed Mike.
Mike is the Man. I've never seen a mount like that pretty cool.
