Amazing how each channel on TV shows different #'s. Was thinking of putting the kayak in the garage for awhile and now they show higher temps for next weekend. Would of liked to have had a job that it didn't matter if I got it right or not.

Best forecast is talking to all the forum folks and I bet I can get better predictions. What a concept ask our neighbors what's it doing on their side of the world. Never thought of that.

I have to contribute. How about some sports figures making ten of millions while having a losing season. Way too many teachers graduating illiterate students. Most religious leaders.... especially the televangelist types. I could go on, but I'm beginning to depress myself ! Lol !

When I was doing interior design and selling furniture in Kansas City, almost 40 yrs ago, I had the privilege of being George Brett's salesman/ consultant. We were both right at 25 yrs old and had met a couple of times previously on a a social basis. He had picked out a couple of lamps he liked, that were the most expensive we had at the time ... about $450 each. Unfortunately he had previously purchased the end tables these were to go on, for $399 each. He just could not rationalize paying more for the lamps than he had spent on the tables. He left, undecided. A couple of weeks go by and he signs a 3 year contract with the Royals for millions (I forget the exact, but tiny compared to today, it was 1978, then). I was making a good salary, close to $25k/yr, thought I was doing fine. I made the mistake of taking that $25k and multiplying it by 1.1, thus giving me a 10% "raise" each year, compounded. I proceeded to punch in "times 1.1, times 1.1, times 1.1, .....63 times, before I achieved his contract sum !!! I would be 87 yrs old before I was paid that much.....he would be re-negotiating for a much bigger sum at age 28 !!!! For playing a GAME !!
When I saw him next and congratulated him on the contract, he sheepishly admitted that, yeah, "I guess I can afford those lamps, now, huh ?"
Such is life, I suppose. Should have eaten more veggies and practiced my batting and throwing instead of.......... GOING FISHIN'!
