Made it on the Ice Saturday. Already 6" of ice, it just froze last week. Here in Idaho you can use 5 poles. But the action was so fast I only got 3 holes drilled. I was only in 9 foot of water. I started with a chartreuse foxy jig tipped with a small chunk of sucker meat and hooked up before it hit bottom. That first fish got my Jaw Jacker wet and the trigger froze up, giving me time to drill two more holes. I put down a chartreuse paddle bug on one pole and a white 3" tube jig on the other both with sucker meat. And as soon as I would jig one I'd get a bite. I was catching them on all three poles. Dead sticking didn't seem to work as well. But they were so hungry they were swallowing it down, and in only a hour I had two three pound cuts hooked too bad to release. Only one Brook trout about 14" .
Nice when the bite is on.
Lookin good.
You can only keep two fish at Henry's. But they have 12 pound cut/bows and 5 lb. Brookies. And the bite is way on.
What do you make the holes with?
Gas powered auger?
How about night crawlers with air from an insulin needle just a little.
Drop shot rig.

Not for Ice fishing. You need it to sink.
I use a Nills hand auger. It drills faster than a power auger.
