Try the uni knot, it's my go to knot and it's very easy.

It really is. I tried so many knots and couldn't get them to work. I learned the uni, and life is so much better. My stubborn buddy uses what I believe is the double clinch knot, or so he claims, but he looses more fish from his fault knot tying skills. He always says "man, that fish ate the hook, and ripped the line but you can see the line just slipped and came loose. Told him to use the uni and nope.

My go to knot is the palomar! First knot I leaned, and while I have many under my belt now, it’s still my go to knot the majority of the time. It has never failed me.

Palomars are great for terminal tackle, though they can get a bit hairy on crank baits with multiple trebles.

I guess...can’t say I’ve ever had an issue tying one on with treble hooks. Once you get the hang of it, it’s easy as can be!

From another thread I hope Trashfish72 does not mind my sharing. A good resource for knots.

Palomar knot link below
simple strong works great never lost anything (knot related of course) using this knot....
This is knot I try to use with lures and hooks always never failed. Use it unless I’m drop shotting or need a high low rig. I make most all my own rigs so special knots depending on type of rig/species.
Simple double up line feed through eye wrap once and then feed hook/lure through opening wet and cinch! Mono/floor/braid...

I use palomar for most terminal. In some light line instances i use an improved uni. Kreh loop for cranks jigs and tops. Line to leader double uni is my go to.

7 turn clinch in 4 # or uni is fine ! No one fishes a tight drag in 4 or hvy action rods !
If your rods taper is slow and power UL or light you won’t have any trouble landing decent fish ! The rod alone will prevent any line failures .

I have a small paperback book, Practical Fishing Knots, by Mark Sosin and Lefty Kremlin. 139 pages of well illustrated fishing knots. Easy to read and very helpful to those who need info for fly fishing, trolling, bait casting, and spinning— in fresh and salt water. Hope this helps anyone having problems with their line and knots. There are probably more knots or solutions available.
