Lake trout fishing

This is all new to me so I could use some help. Need some tips on what to use from pole to line to bate and how deep to go...Yea real green so what ever you can lets here it..And always Thanks Guys!!

Mark some fish 1st, then vertical jig , usually DEEP with spider wire or fluro

Are you fishing for "Lake Trout", the specie, or are you just "fishin' for trout IN a lake" ? Quite a bit of difference in technique, as well as gear. Do you have a boat or on the shore ? Being a bit more specific will get you more pertinent advice.

We will be fishing for trout in a lake and yes we have a boat. We will be fishing at lake Aeroflex. Looks like its around a hundred feet deep and one of the few lakes in NJ that will hold trout and salmon..

I have had success with the divers, like the JetDiver and Dipsy Diver, for getting a lure or bait to the depth of 60-80 feet, not sure about deeper. Depending on the surrounding bank vegetation, the fish may not be out in the deepest part anyway. Here in Oregon, most of the biggies cruise the shore at daylight and dusk,...like me, just looking for a meal,
