Hello Everyone. I live in New Orleans Louisiana, and I’ve recently got into fly tying. Does anyone know where I can purchase materials such as craft fur, ep fibers, and so one. Please tell me I just can’t seem to find one🙁

I take it there's no fly shop near by, so that pretty much leaves mail order/internet you can find material at cabelas, ebay, on line sales, only problem is you may not know what to buy,
or what kind of quality your buying..I would do a search for a local fly fishing club, that might solve a lot of problems...Good Luck

I have bought materials at Cabela's. Not much selection, though.

stuff like craft fur can be puchased at the craft dept @ walmart or craft stores such as hobby lobby, you can find a lot on line at cabelas, bass pro shop, etc.

Hareline Fly Tying Materials, Lure Parts, plus Cabelas are three places that seem to have the largest supply of fly tying materials. Lots of time craft stores have materials, Hobby Lobby, at a lower prices.

Barlow's, Jan's Netcraft, look online for others, lots of them. Cabellas store in Bristol Va., has a better selection than on line. If there is a Cabellas nearby, check there. Better prices are online sales, look for terminal tackle making supplies. Good luck.

Feather craft.com for the esoteric stuff. Hobby Lobby has a decent selection of everyday feathers like peacock hurl or pheasant tails. Cabelas - good for hooks. Sportsman’s warehouse has a good selection too. There’s one east of the Mississippi...south side of Memphis I believe. Otherwise, you’ll need to be west of the continental divide...sans Denver and Colorado Springs.
Got a dog or a cat? The undercoat on pets in the wintertime makes pretty good dubbing.
I used to make the trash dog rs2 from golden retriever hair and they fished pretty good in the San Juan and Arkansas. Sometimes it’s fun to make up a fly from whatever you can find. Carpet fiber is hydro phobic for the most part, it can make some interesting dry fly patterns.
Good luck and tight lines.

Some of the sites I use are Avidmax and Feather Emporium. There are literally thousands of online vendors. Don’t forget to check EBay. Do an online search for a specific material you need. The other suggestions given here are all good sites to visit.
