Is it a good time to catch flathead catfish?

I’m planning on going to the Schuylkill River next Friday is it a good time to catch flathead catfish?? Am I too late for the fall rush?? Going next Friday November 2.

I wouldn't bother. Schuylkill is nasty man. Every single time I went fishing there, I regretted it. Just nasty water and nasty fish

Oh I hope to god you are not going to be eating them...they are not edible.

And still...I am telling you it is not fun. The fish is nasty. My stmach was turning just from trying to unhook them.

I do not know the condition of your river but flathead cats (yellow cat) ( mud cat) (shovel head) all the same fish. Iof cleaned right are delicious. If your river is polluted then I would advise against eating them there. I dont know what 55 means by nasty water. Best time to catch them here in michig
An is late spring till august even Sept if still warm. Good luck👍

Why don't you try the lower Susquehanna for flatheads, they have become a major fishery from Harrisburg down to Conawingo.

PS I would like to catch one also. Catch lots of channels, but no flats yet. Fish middle river Fabric Dam up.
