Thanks to fly fisherman extraordinaire Jimmy Harris at Unicoi Outfitters in Helen, GA, my two grandsons, 8 and 11, each landed their first trout this week after a 20 minute lesson and with Harris at their side. What a memory!
Welcome Smcw
Nice job Grandpa
Grandparents so important in a grandchilds life. Nice picture and great job on teaching that young man how to fly fish.
What a memory is right. And would you look at those smiles. Nice going boys.
Congratulations young men. Proud and happy for you.
What stream did they catch the fish in?

Young men will never forget a trip like that! Just a grinning.
Great pictures of your grandson and his first trout. That’s how I learned to fish, with my PaPa. Great memories your grandson will never forget. 👍

Unfortunately none of my grandkids like to fish. One of my granddaughters used to fish with me but when she became a teenager fishing went out the window. When I can fish again I’m going to try and get her to go fishing with me. I’m sure thankful for my PaPa when I was growing up.

Took all my grandkids fishing. Most of them still fish, and enjoy it. Looking forward now to taking the great grands. The girls are pretty busy with the babies, but the oldest one is almost two, and he'll soon be ready for his mother's rod. Got it all tuned up and ready to go.
Awesome! My Grandson loves to fish and the last couple of years he has out fished this 80 year old guy Salmon fishing out of Westport, WA. I make him plenty of rods. The next rod I am going to make him is a Spiral Wrapped Salmon rod for those trips. I am also going to leave him all my rod building stuff when I can no longer do it.
