East slope it is. Primarily with people who believe it is impossible to have life without the ability to make all conform to one way of life...their way, of course. On the west side, they grow the best fruit I have ever found.

West of Laramie is a wonderful place to hunt for fish. I had an amazing day at Twin Buttes, when the miller moths were migrating through. The air was almost thick with moths and the trout were striking like bass. Used Hornburg flies and they struck nearly every cast. Memorable.

Just have to love fishing like that. Much rarer than when I was young but still available. Thank God.The fruit would be Palisade? The corn and truck veggies be Delta. There is much to be said for those areas.

Gray and Smoke you two paint a mental picture of paradise. Rockwell and Kinkade would be inspired to paint the scenery you two describe. If the funds were available I would be asking for directions. I now live like a boy in school, daydreaming of places only wishes could get me there. Keep them coming guys, life is good, one just needs to appreciate it and that I do.

I have been thinking of the combo of names here. Graywulff, Plumbob, Eastern Oz and Smokypig. Might make a great outdoor story, or a sci-fi cast. There are some wonderfully colorful monikers on this site...and some genuinely fine people.

I grew up in Montana in the 50's and 60's. It was a world that is almost gone today but not totally. We usually obeyed the limits,(next door neighbor was a game warden) but they were quite liberal compared to now. Fishing was less a science and more just fun. Water was clean, we drank from the cricks, many don't believe some of the stories I tell. Yet they are not fish tales. They are all true. One of the reasons I live where I do is because there is still some of that left around here. It ain't heaven but it is close.

It seems to me the list of colorful names and good people here is quite substantial. Reading about some great stuff here.

I was in Bozeman two years ago. The locals call it BozeAngelas.

Graywulff, I had a little bit of that life in the 60's as well. Living in a county in Maryland that had not developed yet. Today it is called Columbia if you have heard of it. Walked out the door and crossed the street, loaded shotgun and shooting rabbits and pheasant within site of the house. Fishing was a little bit away, but in the summer who cares, just don't let farmer Brown see us.

Fast forward to today, now in a farming community living on the water. Have had enough of the rising creek come hurricane season and looking forward if we could ever sell this place to live on or near a lake. Reading what you and others describe increases my hopes that one day that field of dreams will be mine to share as well.

I grew up in Livingston. Bozeman got Californicated when Chet Huntley developed the Big Sky Resort. It spread from there. When the big ranches no longer became profitable a lot of them subdivided and the flood began. Still wonderful country and still some places not totally spoiled. Wyoming is like that too but there is a lot more of it that is in the blizzard belt. But they saving grace of it all is the people. Best folks on earth. The winters do that. Nobody could get through them alone.

He wouldn't mind being snowed in after the plane ride up.

Possibly.
