"You don't graduate from paro-chial school - you SURVIVE it !"
Folks wanted to send me to next parish for high school (with four more years of nuns); told them unequivically that I would be going to public high school (Manchester West High), and if they tried to do otherwise that I would get myself
ejected by the third day ! SORRY ! Eight years was quite enough, thank you ! Got to admit though, that I did get a better education than the local public grade schools ! 😊

My Dad said he learned more by the 8th grade there than the 12th grade graduates from public school.

It might have had a chance to work out in the long run except for one thing (actually, THREE things); her nosy, busybody sisters who didn't have a clue about minding their own business and staying out of ours ! Worse, we lived in a six apartment building; ours was on the third floor, right side - one sister lived just below us on the second floor, right - another was on the first floor, left - and the third was boarding with us in OUR apartment ! Other than that, her brothers pretty much butted out for the most part, got along fairly well with her mom (except for her bouts of 'preachiness'), her dad was okay, and I even hunted, fished, and had a few occasional beers with her eldest sister's husband ! Just COULD not and WOULD not tolerate getting ganged up on and constantly nagged by all FOUR of them ! Talk about being married to SATAN'S SISTERS ! --- YEESH ! --- Which is why I've been 'Happily Divorced' for the last thirty-five years !

Hmmm ! Seems like some of us have more in common than just fishing ! Maybe we should get together and form a 'club within a club and tell horror stories about the Satan's Sisters' we were all married to ! It'd be absolutely appropriate with Halloween just around the corner ! 😁
